n8n has published an automated product review monitoring workflow template that brings review collection, AI sentiment analysis, logging, and alerts into one process. The template reads product URLs from Google Sheets, retrieves reviews through Decodo, uses Google Gemini to summarize sentiment and customer feedback, appends the results to a spreadsheet log, and sends Telegram notifications when new reviews are processed.
The official n8n workflow template is intended for self-hosted n8n deployments because its Decodo community node requires self-hosting. It provides a practical starting point for teams that need a recurring view of what customers are saying across product listings, rather than manually checking pages and compiling feedback in separate documents.
The workflow accepts a list of URLs, including Amazon listings and other URLs. That multi-URL design can also be useful for monitoring competitor product pages when users add those pages to the input sheet, although n8n's official template description frames the capability generally as URL-based monitoring rather than as a dedicated competitor-tracking feature.
How the n8n review monitoring workflow works
The template connects four distinct jobs that are often handled separately: maintaining the pages to watch, collecting review data, interpreting unstructured feedback, and notifying a team. Google Sheets serves as both the input list and the destination for processed results, which makes the workflow easier to inspect without introducing another reporting system.
The process is structured around the following stages:
- Product URLs are maintained in Google Sheets. These can include Amazon listings or other supported URLs.
- Decodo retrieves review data through its n8n community node.
- Google Gemini analyzes the review text for sentiment and creates a summary of what customers said.
- Results are appended to a Google Sheets log, creating a record of processed reviews.
- Telegram sends an alert when the workflow processes new reviews.
| Component | Role in the template | Requirement stated by n8n |
|---|---|---|
| Google Sheets | Stores product URLs and receives the review log | Google Sheets API access |
| Decodo | Scrapes review data from the supplied URLs | Decodo credentials and a self-hosted n8n instance |
| Google Gemini | Performs sentiment analysis and summarizes feedback | Gemini credentials |
| Telegram | Delivers alerts for newly processed reviews | Telegram bot and chat ID |
This is not a fully managed review platform. It is a workflow template that users adapt inside n8n, with their own credentials and connected services. That distinction matters for implementation: the template can reduce the work of designing the automation from scratch, but it still requires configuration and access to each listed service.
What businesses can use it for
The most immediate use case is ongoing product-feedback visibility. A team can maintain a list of important listings, receive a summarized view of new customer feedback, and keep the raw workflow output in a spreadsheet for later review. This can be relevant to ecommerce operators, product teams, agencies managing listings, and businesses that want a more systematic way to spot recurring themes in reviews.
The workflow's URL-based input also makes it possible to place first-party and competitor listings in the same monitoring list. In practice, that can help a team compare themes appearing in feedback across pages, such as commonly praised characteristics or repeated complaints. The template does not itself establish a benchmark, score competitors, or recommend product decisions. Its confirmed function is to retrieve reviews, analyze sentiment with Gemini, summarize the feedback, log results, and issue Telegram alerts.
A second benefit is speed of triage. Review text is unstructured and can become difficult to scan as volume grows. A sentiment result and summary can give a responsible employee a faster starting point for deciding which feedback merits closer reading. Businesses should still review the underlying feedback before acting on consequential product, support, or marketing decisions, since the template's AI analysis is a summary layer rather than a substitute for human judgment.
Setup requirements and practical limits
The self-hosting requirement is the central implementation consideration. n8n states that the Decodo community node used by this template requires a self-hosted n8n instance. Teams using n8n Cloud should confirm their deployment options before planning around this particular workflow.
To configure the template, users need:
- A self-hosted n8n environment capable of using the Decodo community node.
- Decodo credentials for the review-data step.
- Google Sheets API access for the URL list and results log.
- Google Gemini credentials for sentiment analysis and summaries.
- A Telegram bot and chat ID for notifications.
The supplied information does not state a total cost for running the workflow. Any operating cost depends on the accounts and usage associated with Decodo, Gemini, Telegram, Google Sheets, and the chosen self-hosted n8n environment. Businesses evaluating the template should therefore treat it as an implementation pattern, not as a published fixed-price review-monitoring package.
For teams already running self-hosted n8n, the template can be especially useful as a reusable foundation. For teams without an n8n instance or the required credentials, the value depends on whether the recurring review-monitoring need justifies setting up and maintaining the connected workflow.
Manual review checking is often fragmented across browser tabs, spreadsheets, and internal messages. If you want to turn that process into a dependable workflow, Scalevise can help configure self-hosted n8n, connect the required services, and design notifications around the people who need to act on feedback. Frequently Asked Questions
What does the n8n automated review monitoring template do?
It reads product URLs from Google Sheets, retrieves reviews using Decodo, analyzes and summarizes the feedback with Google Gemini, logs results in Google Sheets, and sends Telegram alerts for newly processed reviews.
Can the template monitor competitor listings?
The template supports multiple input URLs, including Amazon listings and other URLs. This can support competitor-page monitoring when those pages are added to the URL list, but the official template describes the capability as general URL-based monitoring.
Does this n8n template work on n8n Cloud?
The template is designed for self-hosted n8n because the Decodo community node it uses requires self-hosting.
What credentials are required?
n8n lists Decodo credentials, Google Sheets API access, Google Gemini credentials, and a Telegram bot with a chat ID as requirements.
Is there a published price for using the workflow?
The supplied template information does not state a total price. Costs depend on the connected services and the self-hosted n8n environment.
Conclusion
n8n's review-monitoring template offers a clear automation pattern for turning listing reviews into logged sentiment summaries and Telegram notifications. Its practical value lies in connecting collection, analysis, and alerts around a list of URLs. The self-hosting and credential requirements mean it needs technical setup, but the template gives businesses a defined foundation for ongoing review visibility rather than a blank workflow canvas.
