n8n Director of Engineering Claire Knight is scheduled to speak at NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026 about bringing stronger controls to AI agent workflows. The confirmed session, titled “Bring Your Own Agent: Sovereign Guardrails for the Age of Autonomous Claws,” places sandboxing, guardrails, and production-grade governance at the center of the discussion.
The topic matters because AI agents are increasingly expected to do more than generate text. When connected to business systems, they may retrieve information, trigger workflow steps, and act on instructions. That creates a practical challenge for teams: how to gain useful automation without giving an agent broader access or authority than a task requires. n8n’s appearance at GTC Berlin signals a public focus on that challenge, rather than a confirmed product launch.
What is confirmed about the n8n session
NVIDIA’s official GTC Berlin session catalog lists Knight as an n8n speaker for the session. It is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CEST. NVIDIA categorizes it under Agentic AI and Claws within its Berlin program.
The confirmed details establish several important points:
- Claire Knight will represent n8n at the Berlin event.
- The presentation will address autonomous AI agents and guardrails.
- The session’s framing includes sandboxed agents and production-grade governance for workflow use cases.
- NVIDIA GTC Berlin runs from October 20 to October 22, 2026.
The catalog does not describe a new n8n product, feature release, price change, or availability announcement. Readers should therefore view the session as a confirmed presentation of n8n’s approach to controlled agent workflows, not as confirmation of a forthcoming launch.
Why guardrails become more important with AI agents
Traditional automation generally follows preconfigured steps. AI agents add a degree of interpretation: they can use a model to decide how to respond to a request, select an available tool, or assemble information for the next stage of a workflow. That flexibility can be useful, but it also makes clear boundaries more important.
In this context, guardrails are the limits that shape what an agent can access, what actions it can take, and when it should stop or request human input. Sandboxing is one way to limit an agent’s operating environment so experimentation or a specific task does not automatically create access to unrelated systems.
The session title’s use of “sovereign guardrails” suggests an emphasis on retaining control over agent behavior and operational boundaries. NVIDIA’s listing supports that thematic reading, although it does not disclose the technical architecture, implementation steps, or specific tools Knight will cover.
For businesses, the useful question is not whether every workflow needs an autonomous agent. It is whether a particular process has clear inputs, acceptable actions, and a meaningful way to handle exceptions. Agents are more practical where those conditions can be defined than where an ambiguous task would require unrestricted access to sensitive systems.
Questions businesses should ask before deploying an agent
The GTC session’s focus provides a useful lens for evaluating any proposed agent workflow. Before connecting an agent to operational tools, teams should be able to answer questions such as:
- What information can the agent read, and what information is out of scope?
- Which actions can it complete automatically, and which require approval?
- Can the workflow be tested in a limited environment before it affects live operations?
- What happens when the agent cannot complete a task or produces an unexpected result?
These are implementation questions, not proof that a given platform has solved every control problem. Still, they help separate a narrowly designed automation from an agent that has unclear permissions and unclear accountability.
What to watch at NVIDIA GTC Berlin
GTC Berlin is a three-day NVIDIA event with a program that includes agentic AI topics. Knight’s session gives n8n a named place in that conversation and makes the company’s emphasis on governed agent workflows visible to a wider technical audience.
The publicly confirmed program details do not establish an exact n8n exhibit booth assignment. NVIDIA’s exhibit information confirms a partner exhibit hall with more than 150 booths, but the cited public materials do not publish a booth number for n8n. The speaker session, its title, its schedule, and its guardrails focus are the details currently supported by NVIDIA’s catalog.
For managers evaluating automation, the practical value of this session will be in the specifics: how the presenter frames permission boundaries, testing environments, human review, and operational reliability. Those details can help teams assess whether AI agents are ready for a defined workflow or still need tighter process design first.
AI agents become valuable when they fit real processes without creating extra manual review or uncontrolled access. Scalevise can help map a practical workflow, connect the necessary systems, and build reliable automations through its n8n setup service. That work turns guardrail principles into clear permissions, approval points, and monitored handoffs suited to daily operations. Discuss your n8n automation project with Scalevise.

Conclusion
n8n’s confirmed GTC Berlin session makes AI agent controls the central story. Rather than signaling a documented product release, the appearance highlights the operational work required to use agents safely in real workflows: defined boundaries, limited access, testing, and clear handling of exceptions. For businesses considering agent automation, those fundamentals are as important as the model or tools chosen.
