Define the Question First
Write your recovery objectives, workload mix, and retention requirements before evaluating anything. Without that specification you will be comparing feature counts, which correlate poorly with how fast you actually recover.
The Axes That Matter
Weigh recovery speed, workload and platform coverage, immutability enforcement, testing support, and operational burden. Most backup and disaster recovery solutions trade one of these against another, and the trade only matters relative to your constraints.
Watch Total Cost, Not Sticker Cost
Model cost across a realistic recovery: storage at rest, compute during failover and testing, egress, and the staff hours to operate it. Options that look cheap monthly frequently are not cheap during an incident.
Insist on a Restore Test
The only honest evaluation is a recovery test on your own data. Reluctance to run one during evaluation is information, and it is rarely information in the vendor's favor.
