Most people ship a personal homepage and never touch it again, like a flyer printed and shoved in a drawer. The most underused thing in a good personal-site builder is Posts: short updates that keep a page alive. If you want your personal site posts to actually say something about you, here is how I'd play it.
What Posts are, really
A portfolio shows what you've done; Posts show what you're doing lately. Drop one and a visitor sees it the moment they land, no need to dig through your socials. It's a line of text, an optional image, a timestamp. No layout pressure. Write and ship.
Why a homepage needs posts, not just a portfolio

The gap is bigger than people think: a static page reads like a card, a page with Posts reads like a person who is still around. What hit me most is that Posts gave me a reason to stay present without writing a full article. Not everyone wants a blog, but almost anyone can post "shipped a small thing this week."
Three posting rhythms
- Daily: good if you're mid-project and want people to see progress. Cheapest to do, one line and done.
- Two or three a week: the sweet spot for most. Rhythmic without becoming noise.
- Whenever: only speak up when there's real news. Better than silence, but don't expect return visits.
Don't force a daily streak. The value isn't frequency, it's "you're still here." Two posts with substance beat thirty "good mornings."
What to post
- What you finished: a feature shipped, a draft delivered, a sketch done.
- What you learned: a bug, a good read, a small idea.
- What you're doing: show work in progress, even unfinished.
- What you'd recommend: a book, a tool, a method.
Be specific. Swap "still grinding today" for "rebuilt the checkout flow, +12% conversion" and visitors know you're actually doing things.
Let the data decide
This works on the free plan too: after you post, see who looked and how long. If one post holds attention noticeably longer, your visitors like that kind, so post more of it. A homepage isn't fire-and-forget; post, read the feedback, adjust, repeat.
